Hard to believe it's December!! After not doing a whole lot of anything last month, I set today as the day to get back into healthy eating and exercising habits. For starters, I signed up for the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge - if you haven't, sign up and start tallying your exercise points for weekly chances to win awesome prizes.
For the healthy eating, I've once again cut out my daily chocolate. I don't like to be too extreme - so I allow myself to indulge one day, usually Saturdays (thank goodness it's a short week :)). They say the average American gains and maintains 5lbs every holiday season…no need for an extra 5 for me!
How are you keeping off the extra holiday 5?
I'm mostly curtailing the constant munching, increasing the fruits/veggies, and cutting down the portion sizes. No deprivation dieting, just no more carte blanche at the dinner table. Of course, this is a delicate balance in the two days before an 8 hour race. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOh man, that's what I was going to get you for xmas! What to do, what to do...
ReplyDeleteI am taking part in lots of exercise challenges and watching the treats!
ReplyDeleteSO far I am doing really good at keeping off those 5 lbs.
ReplyDeleteI am really hoping to win the giveaway it would be a great Christmas present to myself :)
I always seem to do fine through the holidays...it's January that does me in. I am always stuck indoors (other than running) and tend to graze a bit too much! Good for you for giving up the daily chocolate..that would be a toughy.
ReplyDeleteI am keeping it off (hopefully) by being mindful of what I'm throwing down the ole gullet.
