Tuesday Tidbits - Barefoot Running

Although I am not a barefoot runner, I can see the benefits of going shoeless.  During the summer, which seems like now with our crazy midwest weather, I spend a lot of time barefoot, and even do some barefoot running on the beach and on the local high school track.  Even occasional barefoot running is touted to help with running form by naturally promoting a forefoot vs heel strike landing.

  1. You know I am a believer. I am not currently doing any pure barefoot running, but I KNOW that doing some last spring allowed me to successfully change my form. One of the best things I have ever done for my running. After Boston, I'll start incorporating small amounts of BF back into my running program. In the meantime, I am almost never in shoes (the beauty of being at home!)

  2. Barefoot running - not the answer for everyone, but worth considering!
