Five for Friday

We spent our spring break last week in Breckenridge, CO.  Some interesting stats:

1.  Base elevation 9600 ft and summit elevation 12998 ft - as sealevel dwellers from the midwest, we felt the altitude...



2.  Boasts having North America's highest chairlift, the 12,840-foot Imperial Express.

3.  First major Colorado resort to open its slopes to snowboarding in 1984, and pioneered the first permanent half pipe.

4. Breckenridge contains more than 350 historic structures, making it the largest historic district in the state of Colorado.

4. The local mantra goes, "We came for the winter and stayed for the summer." Summer activities include hiking, biking, boating, golf...we're looking forward to some fun in the summer.

  1. I felt the altitude for at least 4 days, will definitely take it easier at first next year. Weekend is all about family! No rest for the weary. :)

    I felt the altitude more this trip than any other. Maybe it's because I was more active than past trips.
