Mammut MTR React Trail Shoe Review

Mammut, based in Switzerland started as a traditional ropeworks company and evolved into a modern, advanced company for the development, manufacture and sale of ropes, netting, belts and equipment for mountaineering and outdoor pursuits.  Kovas and I were super excited to have the opportunity to try some of their trail shoes!

Mammut MTR Reacts

Don't let the cute look of the Mammut MTR Reacts fool you - these are incredible trail shoes that have great traction, support and protection!  On the trail the gripex™ Iguana sole provides great traction and the Stone Shield insert prevents penetration of sharp stones.  They have a great fit - spacious toe box and with heel lock lacing, foot stays put.  Although the shoe is pretty stiff, I experienced no rubbing or heel problems - even straight out of the box.  Lightweight with good ventilation, these Mammuts are great for running but comfortable enough for walking, biking, travel, etc.

In addition to making great trail shoes, I love that Mammut cares about people, communities and the planet.

Our aim is to offer the very best alpine products, assume our social responsibility, and leave behind the best possible ecological footprint. So that future generations can be mountaineers as well.

Mammut is convinced: To ensure long-term corporate success, social and ecological aspects must be considered as well as the business dimension. Corporate responsibility is an integral part of our core business – and applied on firm as well as on product level. It’s a complex footpath without ending, on which we advance step by step.
